September Favourites xx

September, what a month, I have a lot of favourite things this month. Ranging from make up products to moments this month :) Here we go

Beauty:

I've been using the Garnier BB cream this month. Doesn't do more than a tinted moisturiser but not as heavy as a foundation. Covers up most blemishes and evens skin tone out. Great for through the day! Add powder to it to stop it sliding anywhere! Slightly pricy, but you only need a little so it lasts a long time. I prefer a tinted moisturiser to this however.

Nivea Visage Daily Essentials tinted moisturiser, great for through the day at work or school as it is good for the skin rather than foundations, concealer still needed however just to cover up any blemishes. Absolutely love it!! I highly recommend it!!

Australis Ready Set Go Powder, I did a blog post on this recently so you can read that, but basically its not as harsh as some other powders, quite light, lasts the whole day, quite cheap. Would recommend it to anyone.

Sportsgirl Powder Puff Lipstick. Cute pink lipstick quite bright. I was a bit scared to use it at first as of how bright it was but after a couple of times of wearing it I've grown to love it! Long lasting colour! Love all of sportsgirl's lipsticks, quite pricy about $10 a stick.

Nivea Pearly Shine. I wear this everyday. It is my absolute favourite lipbalm/lipstick. It has a quite natural pink shade to it, yet nice a shiny. So moisturising and hydrating. I normally choose this over lipstick because of how natural it looks. Has a great taste to it! and is great for your lips! Very cheap like $3 or something!

Fashion:

Jumpsuits! I've all of a sudden just got really into them! they are so comfy and cute. The one pictured below is one i bought in jayjays for about $30 which is pretty good compared to other stores. Would recommend stores like Mura Boutique or Princess Polly for good jumpsuits but they can be expensive there!

Patterned shorts I also think are really cute, I've got a pair  from little lies the label and I wear them all the time! I either wear them with a cropped t- shirt or with a simple t-shirt that can be tucked in.

I'm also loving bows. They just sit so perfectly in front of a bun or in loose curls. They are so cute and girly and fit right in with my style! I have so many of them I'm losing count! If you are quite girly and cute like me in terms of clothing would definitely recommend them!

Flower heads band are also amazing. I love them so much. I just think they pull together loads of outfits and just help to dress things down if you think they are too formal.

In terms if shoes I'm loving the classic flat sandal. I got a pair for $20 from valley girl that have some sparkle on them so if I go anywhere important I can glam up an outfit a little by adding matching jewellery or keep it simple with just the sparkle of the shoes. Also they are so comfy so your feet don't hurt at all! I'm planning on taking them to leavers cause Ill probably wear them everywhere!

Music:

Ellie Goulding, I love her soooo much! Her new song Burn is incredible. As is Jessie J's "Its My Party". I'm having an obsession with one republic as well, especially counting stars, also lovin MKTOs song classic!

TV:
X factor is basically the only show I watch ahaha seeing as I have hardly anytime for tv cause of school! But my favourites are taylor, jiordan and dami.

Sorry I didn't put any photos up. I didn't have enough time! I promise next time!! Hope this post has been useful to some people in terms of summer fashion and beauty!

Foundations or tinted moisturiser?

So I've been comparing some of my favourite products. These include the Dior forever skin in number 40, maybelline fitme 120 and the nivea daily essentials tinted moisturiser.

The Dior foundation, is the one I got for my year 12 ball. I don't know how much it cost as I payed about $100 for the lady at Dior to do my makeup then I got two products, which were the foundation and the lipstick. The foundation I love. You only need a little foundation for great coverage! It's isn't to heavy or oily and has a really dewy effect on the skin so it's not to shiny. However it can be expensive which is a down side.

The Maybelline fitme foundation is wonderful. It isn't too expensive and has great coverage but it can go shiny very quickly which means you need powder. I normally use the matching maybelline fitme powder or the australis ready set go powder. I only use a little foundation as it can be quite thick so I literally only put a tiny drop on the end of my brush. Would definetly recommend this foundation.

I've been recently trying to wear tinted moisturiser rather than foundation as it can be better for your skin although it can be hard to find one that matches your skin. However this one is great it's not too dark and quite light weight so covers your skin very well and is also quite dewy so I think it is great and you put some powder and lush over it to hold  it in place. Would also recommend this one.

Overall I would recommend maybelline fit me and the Nivea tinted moisturiser over the Dior foundation purely because of the cost. I personally prefer wearing tinted moisturiser in the summer everyday as it is more light weight and doesn't melt off of my skin. And I prefer to wear maybelline if I am going out somewhere important just because it lets me mak my skin look as perfect as possible. Pictures of all 3 below.

Australis Powder Review

You know how sometimes you have those foundations that go very shiny very quickly, especially living in Australia I suffer from this. I had tried countless powders that were matches to my skin tone, but they always made my face look unattractively cached with make up. I had been trying to find an affordable, good quality translucent powder. It took a while but I finally found one, by a brand which I would not normally use. Australis, they're a cheap Australian brand of make up, that have a reputation for smudgy mascaras and eyeliners and orangy foundations, however their "ready set go" finishing powder is wonderful. I tried it out for school one day. Normally by 3:30 my skin would be very shiny but after using this my skin did not go shiny the whole day, which was amazing. I would definitely recommend this powder. It's light weight, suitable for all skin types and does not give a heavy powdered effect. It costs $9 in Priceline (Australian chemist) and despite its low cost it is very good quality and I will of course continue to use it. Comment below if you want to know more or have any recommendations of your own :)

Living Your Best Life

Living your best life is about trying not to let things knock you down and being able to stay strong and carry on when things try to do that. Like above "when life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show them you have a thousand reasons to smile." It means trying to accept your flaws and live with them, something I am trying to teach myself.

As cheesy as it sounds you only live once, so you need to embrace every moment you have. I do this by trying to photograph everything I do, whether it be from an early morning run to a picnic with friends. You have to try and challenge yourself and fulfil things you'd never thought you'd do. For example I never thought I'd go surfing, but now I have a soft board yeah im not skilled or coordinated at all but I enjoy looking like a complete idiot.

A lot of the simple things, like having fun with nature, in our lifestyles are now overlooked because of consumerism and people's materialistic wants and needs. But what if all a person needs is to go for a walk and smell fresh air? To get up an hour earlier and live an hour longer? What of that's all we really need?

We need to learn to start accepting ourselves and what is truly important, and what is this? Trying as many new things as possible and taking each day as it comes. Taking a break from trying to be something we are not and trying out things that make us, us. Things that we'd never thought we'd do, and living our best lives.

Um, hi?

So this is a little awkward, I'm introducing myself to followerless blog.
Um hi, I'm Rachel and I live in Australia. I don't really know how to start this post apart from saying that its gonna have a kinda lifestyle, beauty vibe to it. I get a lot of anon's on tumblr asking about make up and fashion and lifestyle so I thought I'd make a blog about it. I don't know if this going to work out well or not, so I'll see how this goes for until the end of the year and then I'll make my decision on whether I'm going to actually start blogging properly, so bare with me while I learn all the ropes of blogging :)

So I guess I should just start by telling anyone who is reading this about me? So I live in Australia and I'm in my final year of school. I have a quite large group of friends but my six closest friends I consider sisters. If you follow me on tumblr you'll know the friends I'm talking about. What else? ahahaha when I need to talk about myself I have no idea what to say! Umm I love the beach and summer, its where I pretty much love on holidays and free days. I enjoy shopping and doing make up and all the girly things like that, on that note I have quite a girly sense of fashion. I love skirts and dress and florally things. I've also a kinda boho thing I love head bands and beads and that sorta stuff. I also like working out and trying to stay healthy. To a lot of people's dislike, my body clock has pretty much programmed me to get up at like 7 no matter how late I stay up. I live by the saying "life is getting up an hour earlier to live an hour longer".

I'm in my final year of high school, I study english, maths (yuck), psychology, human biology, religion and geography. I have one sister who I am extremely close with, however she's going through her little "I'm better than everyone else" stage of being a teenager, but I still love her. We think very alike and share similar thoughts, interests and ideas. Like we both enjoy sport, fashion, makeup, being healthy, music sorta things, but she is a lot more extrovert than I am.

Anyhows my blog, its going to be helping people to live their best lives and being able to love yourself,  both these things I'm still learning to do, so I thought why not start blog where I can be inspired by others and inspire others on my journey to being a healthier, more positive person.

If anyone actually reads this, then thank you :D was this a good start to my blog? ahahaha.
