December Favourites Xx

Good Morning Good Evening and Good Afternoon lovely people, I hope you have all had a wonderful December, Christmas, silly season and all that jazz! So, my December favourites, there is quite a range, from shoes to websites to tea toxs.

First off fashion, there are some items which on first glance I wouldn't normally choose to wear.

For example dungarees (overalls) are an item of clothing I never thought I would suit. But for work I'm not allowed to wear anything to short or exposing so I've found that overalls paired with a bright t-shirt underneath have been working well for me when working at the sweet shop. Paired with my converse and light make up I've a new found confidence in wearing them.

I've also found I can wear them easily down to the beach with just a bikini underneath or if I'm going out with a crop top or bandeau. The dungarees I have been wearing are from cotton on and cost about $40.

Next I've been obsessed with lorna janes sports bras and crops.

The dark blue one I've found is more comfortable for working out and offers better support while running cause your boobs don't bounce up and down like they are doing a work out of their own. Whereas I find the stripy one more comfortable to wear through the day when I'm at work or just lounging around the house. I've recently been wearing them absolutely everywhere and love them so so much! However lorna jane is quite pricy but the quality of the clothing compensates for the price. The two crops picture above cost about $60 each but are honestly worth every cent. Check out their website and blog:

But if you are looking for something cheaper I'd recommend Forever21 as their active wear is great quality a whole lot cheaper.

Now some shoes I have been loving, first off my low cut converse. They are not the traditional low cuts, but are just as comfortable and cute.

I bought these nearly over a year ago but never really wore them. I rediscovered them in my wardrobe when I was packing for leavers and have been wearing them ever since because they look cute with just about any outfit. I got them in a shop called hype in the Murray street mall in the perth city centre, they cost about $80 but their cost has been lived up to by the amount of wear they get.

Next is these shoes, I'm not sure what they are called, but they are knock offs of the original windsor smith ones from rubi shoes.

They cost me $40 and I love them. I found they pair up best with playsuits, overalls and brightly patterned shorts. I personally think they are great for parties and for casual occasions. However the original version, Windsor smith, are expensive so I recommend getting  a cheaper version for example the rubi shoe type as they are about $80 cheaper and it will not be as much as a loss when this style of shoe eventually goes out of style.

The next two things I've been loving are flower crowns and wired bun wraps. Flower crowns I've talked about before I just love how simple and cute they look, and they aren't expensive at all.

The next is wired bun wraps. It's literally a piece of wire with a cute bit of patterned material around which is moulded around a bun to give it a cute, girly look, like the one picture below.

This cost me about $5 in Gloss Cosmetics and I wear it all the time. Especially to work because I think it suits the style of clothing I wear there, my overalls and cute t-shirts.

I go on about this stuff all the time but honestly it is amazing, the Nivea visage daily essential tinted moisturising day cream.

It has all the same qualities of a moisturiser but lasts longer, is better for your skin and is a lot cheaper. I find that it's not too oily and doesn't require an awful lot of setting powder to keep it in place. It has great coverage and gives quite a natural sunkissed look. I've been using the same 50mL tube since the winter, like if that doesn't say long lasting and only requires a little for great coverage I don't know what else does.

Next is my sportsgirl liquid pen eyeliner. This cost me about $8 in sportsgirl and is great.

You can do really thick liner or you can do really thin it pretty much covers every persons preference. It's very long lasting and doesn't smudge very easily. However it isn't water proof so it will ru if it does get wet. But if you're looking for a cheap good quality eye liner I would definitely suggest this one.

Keeping in the sportsgirl theme, their lipsticks, just ugh! They are long lasting, great quality and only cost $10! They have heaps and heaps of bright colours perfect for summer but the one I've been loving is this peachy colour called spring fling.

It's quite cute and simple and suits a lot of different outfits and you can basically match it to any colour because its that natural. I'm not normally a fan of this sort of colour and choose to stick to classic pinks but this is like the cutest colour that's not pink that I've tried.

As many people know or don't know. I am absolutely obsessed with the products from Lush. My favourite product recently has been the "my boy lollipop" sugar lip scrub which is bubblegum flavoured.

It tastes really really good like I can't explain I love it so much. And the texture after you've used it makes your lips feel so soft and smooth. Although its like $11 which is a little expensive but so worth it! And it's great for Christmas presents and stocking fillers!

So I love lip balms and lip glosses and lipsticks and all that sorta stuff. So while I was on leavers (post exam tradition for Australian school graduates) my lips became very dry and chapped, from the sun and kissing lots of boys which led me into buying a lip balm while I was away. I ended up buying the alba passion fruit nectar lip balm which is totally made of organic products. So 1. its really cheap 2. it tastes amazing and 3. it lasts forever and 4. its so moisturising, after about 2 days of using it i found my lips were back to normal. So if your lips dry out easy like mine in very hot or cold temperatures drop what you are doing and go buy this.

Ok so the picture below isnt actually mine, so credit to the owner of the photo. But I've been loving this style of nail art. Its a simple colour with one finger nail covered in a glittery polish. I've been wearing this a lot. Especially in red with a silver glittered nail because it looks really cute and festive. I think its quite girly, which ties in very well with my style because I'm known for my cutesy, flirty, quite girly choice of clothing.

This one is a bit different, but I've been loving YourTea's tiny tea. Its a type of tea tox that doesnt use any sort of laxative which other types of tea have been known to use. The taste can be quite different at first but I enjoy drinking it. It doesn't make you lose weight. Only you can do that. But it helps with the process of cleansing. It helps to reduce the bloating or bloated feeling that you can get after eating. I found that I wasn't feeling as sluggish or bloated after I started drinking it. My skin cleared up quite a lot. So within about a week I was feeling full of energy I didn't feel as bloated. I'm going to try the "her tea" next as it is not actually a tea tox and is more suited to everyday use at your own dispense. The costs range between $35-$55.  Here is the link to their website:

Since school stopped I've had more time on my hands to actually pick up a book to read that I enjoy and not one of those god awful books that english teachers practically shove down your throat. So I've been reading Billy and Me by Giovanna Fletcher who is an author, actress, singer and blogger married to Tom Fletcher of McFly. This book is based around the story of Sophie who falls into a relationship with world famous actor Billy Buskin, and follows their story of the highs and lows of their relationship. The inner english student will come out in me now as I believe based on the stories in the media that you may have heard about Giovanna and Tom, and storyline of the novel that the book is almost a reflection of their relationship in the celebrity world while trying to maintain what is considered a "normal" life. But seriously the book is the sweetest thing ever! I absolutely fell in love! I laughed, cried, cringed, seriously worth the read, took me about a day to read from cover to cover and start it all over again.

Now to an unusual favourite. The website "Essena", is owned and run by a 17 year old girl on the Sunshine Coast of Australia. She is absolutely incredibly inspiring and beautiful. She has done so well for herself in the last year empowering girls to love their bodies and treat them with respect, to see further into them. She posts about food, working out, fashion, make up you name it she probably has done a post of youtube video or something along the lines about it. Honestly worth checking out her website, tumblr and youtube. Her way of life has helped me to change mine. I see things in much more of a positive light, I manage to get myself up out of bed early in the morning because I know my body will thank me for it later, and if I'm having an off day then I listen to my body.

 http://www.essena.com.au/

Ok lovelies that is it for december favourites! I hope you all had a lovely christmas and have a wonderful new year! Don't party too hard ;)

Rachel Xx

Favourite Items In My Room Tag

So I was tagged by the lovely Kerry as Kerry's Habitat to do the Favourite Items In My Room Tag. So basically if you're tagged you just have to follow the structure but change it to match your room if some things don't apply :) Please excuse the awful quality of these photos as I'm using my phone.

1. Favourite item in a frame
This is a picture of me and my 5 closest friends. In order there is Bec, Emma, Laura, Anna, me and Sarah has been cut out by the glare, but if you go onto my tumblr blog you can see a better photo. This photo means a lot because I love these guys like my sisters.

2. Best blue, red, pink or yellow item.
My lanterns! They light up my bedroom and just look really pretty.

3. Favourite Item Made Of Paper
My daily affirmations. I was given this by a family friend when I finished high school.

4. Most sentimental item
The stuffed dragon with my grandads name on it. It was given to him when he was fighting cancer by the daffodil foundation, then when he passed my grandma kept it, and she sat him on her bedside table every night, then when she passed, he was given to me, and because I didn't really know my grandad the toy dragon means a lot

5. Thing you are most proud of
My guitar because I'm trying to stick to trying to learn how to play it.

6. Favourite book or magazine
There is too many to choose from!

7. Strangest thing in your room
Lots of little positive quotes around my room!

8. Messiest part of my room
End of my desk. There is a bunch of messy unorganised papers

9. Oldest thing in my room
Jewellery that belonged to my gran. It's very special and very precious to me.

10. Favourite piece of furniture
My bookcase, it's covered in lots of special things and I think it looks pretty, it's basically everything that is me.

Shopping Haul #1

Ok lovely people so over the last couple of weeks I've been getting summer goodies and decided to do a haul post :)

I did not buy all of this in one whack so don't freak out too much :) I don't have pictures every item but I do for most so you can use your imagination or go google searching to find the product :)

So first I bought a bikini by the brand Topanga from City Beach, Australian surfwear and clothing shop. I don't have a picture of it and I'm not comfortable putting a picture of myself wearing it online. So basically its navy blue with white daisy printed all over it and it has frills all the way around the bottoms and across the front of the top.

Then I bought a skirt, also out of city beach, by a brand called Mooloola, the skirt is called the strawberry swing skirt. I got it on sale and I think it is really cute :) It is pictured below and I'm actually wearing it out tonight for the first time to a post exam fish and chip beach gathering with my friends :)
Next I bought some shorts out of another surfwear shop, you can tell I'm a beach girl can't you :) called Waves. The shorts I bought were from a brand called Rusty. They are denim but look a little but more casual and not as harsh as normal denim shorts. I'd probably just wear a cute simple singlet with it with bathers underneath or with just a crop top or something :)

Next I bought a loose singlety, blouse top out of a high end store called Forever New, it was quite expensive and I don't normally buy clothes out of there because of the price. But I fell in love with this. It's quite a simple blue blouse and you could dress it up if you wanted to or keep it quite simple. I love the colour blue and its basically my staple colour, plus I love floaty girly things so I couldn't really say no :)

These next couple of things I haven't taken any pictures of, sorry. I bought a pair of sandals out of a shop called Valleygirl, they are basic flat sandals with some diamonte` style glitzy bits on them, quite simple and casual, but can dress up an outfit if you need them to. Then I bought a set of rings, mainly pinky rings and mid finger rings cause they are very popular the moment. Then I bought a set of belts one in navy blue and one in white. I bought the smallest sizes of them, and I still had to punch more holes in them to make them fit. Out of Big W I got a couple of simple singlets and a pair of comfy beach shorts just because you need a pair in summer just to wear around cause it basically what you spend the whole day in :) I also got some new make brushes by the brand boe, quite a cheap brand only ever used their nail polishes before but I think they'll do an ok job of getting my make up on my face haha.

I then got a bottle of the maybelline dream pure bb cream. I actually was sent some free sample sachets of this by maybelline and I fell in love with it. So I went a bought a tube of it. It's really light, doesn't make your skin too shiny so you only need a little powder and it has great coverage :)

Next I bought the garnier BB cream roll on. I orignally had a tube of this, but wasn't liking it to cover my whole face. So mum took that one and I bought the roll on one which I have been using as a concealer and I prefer it so much more to the actual cream. Its not as heavy and oily in the roll on I think. I would reccomend that over the actually bottle of BB cream its self.

Then I went a store here called Sportsgirl. I bought 3 beauty products. The first a peachy coloured lipstick called spring fling, its really natural looking and has such a pretty colour perfect for summer when all the brighter pink and peach colours are coming in. Next I bought the liquid eye liner. I'm normally quite scared of eye liner but this one is really simple and really fine so I thought I'd give it a try. Then I got the Sportsgirl Big Blink mascara. I don't normally use their mascaras but I thought I'd try this one, so far I think its ok, but it kinda made some of my lashes clump together which I don't really like so I'm trying to use it sparingly and only in little bits to stop them clumping too much.

That is all my lovelies. I hope you enjoyed seeing this. I bound to buy plently more I still need to get a jumpsuit and a dress of two before my summer wardrobe is complete.

Whats In My Handbag? Summer Edition

So this lovely people is my handbag. I bought it for about 100 Australian dollars, in a town called Melaka from a designer store called Carlo Rino. It has two long shoulder traps so it's comfortably and has lots of little apartments inside. It's not too big but it stores everything I need perfectly!

The first things have in my bag is a little sunscreen because I burn easily and don't want to end up looking like a tomato :

The next thing is my Nivea pearly shine lip balm it is hydrating and has sun protection it has a beautiful colour and I take it absolutely everywhere and where it all the time.

Next is a bottle of hand sanitizer because I'm out a lot and on public transport and you don't know where people's hands have been or if they have been sick or whatever.

I don't have a photo of this but my house keys they are an essential.

Next is my beauty/girly things bag. I didn't take a picture of every single product so you google the ones I didn't or use your imagination.
- olive balm - marks and Spencer's
- revlon grow luscious mascara
- Nivea visage be beautiful tinted moisturiser
- maybelline fitme 120 powder
- rexona roll on antiperspirant
- Rimmel match perfection concealer
- some hair ties and hair pins
- soluble panadols
This thing it like two hair combs joine with beads and elastic and is great for just pinning your hair up when you need it, I don't what its actually called. If you know please tell me :)
- savlon and plasters
- a miniature tooth brush and tooth paste
- Nivea hand and facial moisturier
- voltaren joint inflammation gel
- dry shampoo and a mini hair brush
- thermal spirt water spray
- and some odd things like nail clippers and nails files tweezers etc
- and some lady things if you know what I mean

I also keep a water bottle in my bag because you dehydrate quicker in summer and is therefore and essential. I also keep things like my asthma puffer and sunglasses and some loose change and stuff and endless supply of lip balms and lipglosses.

Hope this has inspired some people for their summer handbag :)

One direction concert

Ok so on the 29th of September I went to the One Direction Take Me Home Tour concert at the Perth Arena. It was incredible. We were seated in block 006 which was on the floor. We were in the back row and right next to the second stage. We got a wave from Harry and Louis which absolutely made my night, and apart from the intense screaming of 50000 teenage girls it was amazing.

We booked the tickets back in April last year. So its been about a 16 month wait for them to actually come to Perth, and after going through a phase of being ridiculously obsessed with them,  my loved for them kinda died down quite a bit. However that didnt stop me from going to the concert.

Our night began when my friends Emma and Bec and Bec's sister Bindi came over to mine beforehand. We did our make up and took some photos and then Emma drove us all the train station where we took the train to the city. In the city we met with more friends Anna and Laura and went off to get dinner. We walked around the city trying to find somewhere that wasn't packed full of the crazed fans which was actually very hard. We ended in a little bar round the corner from the arena called The Local Shack which were very good considering there were heaps of fans inside all ordering pretty much the same thing over and over. After dinner we walked down to the Arena which was absolutely mental outside. There must have been thousands of fans trying to pack into this tiny little sheltered area before getting inside the arena to get of the rain. We were then told we couldn't take our water bottles in, but because we didnt want to buy water due to the high costs we decided to put our water bottles, wait for it, inside my playsuit with my denim jacket over the top so I looked like a T-rex walking around to sneak our bottles inside, and it worked.

Bec and Bindi then went to find their seats which were in the block to right of ours and we could see them very well. We had  such a good time dancing to the music that was playing before the concert started and to 5 Seconds of Summer the support band from Sydney who did absolutely incredible. About 30 minutes later One Direction came on stage, starting with the song Up All Night from their debut album. I couldn't hear them singing at first because of how loud the screaming was.

The boys are so entertaining and made it an incredible night. They aren't like regular boybands with their choreographed dance routines and preferred to just be their mad selves. However poor Louis had lost his voice and couldnt sing all of his lines.

My favourites performances had to be all the songs from the Up All Night album especially One Thing, More Than This & Moments and their Sophomore Album songs Change My Mind and Last First Kiss. Niall during Change My Mind, instead of singing "so baby if you say you want me to stay" he sang "so baby if you say you want me to drive to KFC" which was really funny. Once they arrived on the second stage that is when we got our waves. First from Louis who made eye contact with me and another girl who was next to me and next Harry, I was leaning out over my chair waving at him and shouting his name and he smiled and waved back.

I know there is a lot of them but these were my favourite performances, More Than This, One Thing, Moments, Change My Mind, Last First Kiss, Little Things and What Makes You Beautiful.

So the concert all in all was amazing I'm so glad I went. Thank you to the boys for making the show so absolutely incredibly enjoyable I had the most wonderful time. Thanks to Zayn for hitting his amazing high notes, thank you to Liam for being his perfect self, thank you to Harry for waving at us, thank you to Louis for coming out and performing despite being poorly and thank you to my sexy irish mofo Niall for being his beautiful and crazy self.

September Favourites xx

September, what a month, I have a lot of favourite things this month. Ranging from make up products to moments this month :) Here we go

Beauty:

I've been using the Garnier BB cream this month. Doesn't do more than a tinted moisturiser but not as heavy as a foundation. Covers up most blemishes and evens skin tone out. Great for through the day! Add powder to it to stop it sliding anywhere! Slightly pricy, but you only need a little so it lasts a long time. I prefer a tinted moisturiser to this however.

Nivea Visage Daily Essentials tinted moisturiser, great for through the day at work or school as it is good for the skin rather than foundations, concealer still needed however just to cover up any blemishes. Absolutely love it!! I highly recommend it!!

Australis Ready Set Go Powder, I did a blog post on this recently so you can read that, but basically its not as harsh as some other powders, quite light, lasts the whole day, quite cheap. Would recommend it to anyone.

Sportsgirl Powder Puff Lipstick. Cute pink lipstick quite bright. I was a bit scared to use it at first as of how bright it was but after a couple of times of wearing it I've grown to love it! Long lasting colour! Love all of sportsgirl's lipsticks, quite pricy about $10 a stick.

Nivea Pearly Shine. I wear this everyday. It is my absolute favourite lipbalm/lipstick. It has a quite natural pink shade to it, yet nice a shiny. So moisturising and hydrating. I normally choose this over lipstick because of how natural it looks. Has a great taste to it! and is great for your lips! Very cheap like $3 or something!

Fashion:

Jumpsuits! I've all of a sudden just got really into them! they are so comfy and cute. The one pictured below is one i bought in jayjays for about $30 which is pretty good compared to other stores. Would recommend stores like Mura Boutique or Princess Polly for good jumpsuits but they can be expensive there!

Patterned shorts I also think are really cute, I've got a pair  from little lies the label and I wear them all the time! I either wear them with a cropped t- shirt or with a simple t-shirt that can be tucked in.

I'm also loving bows. They just sit so perfectly in front of a bun or in loose curls. They are so cute and girly and fit right in with my style! I have so many of them I'm losing count! If you are quite girly and cute like me in terms of clothing would definitely recommend them!

Flower heads band are also amazing. I love them so much. I just think they pull together loads of outfits and just help to dress things down if you think they are too formal.

In terms if shoes I'm loving the classic flat sandal. I got a pair for $20 from valley girl that have some sparkle on them so if I go anywhere important I can glam up an outfit a little by adding matching jewellery or keep it simple with just the sparkle of the shoes. Also they are so comfy so your feet don't hurt at all! I'm planning on taking them to leavers cause Ill probably wear them everywhere!

Music:

Ellie Goulding, I love her soooo much! Her new song Burn is incredible. As is Jessie J's "Its My Party". I'm having an obsession with one republic as well, especially counting stars, also lovin MKTOs song classic!

TV:
X factor is basically the only show I watch ahaha seeing as I have hardly anytime for tv cause of school! But my favourites are taylor, jiordan and dami.

Sorry I didn't put any photos up. I didn't have enough time! I promise next time!! Hope this post has been useful to some people in terms of summer fashion and beauty!
