December Favourites Xx

Good Morning Good Evening and Good Afternoon lovely people, I hope you have all had a wonderful December, Christmas, silly season and all that jazz! So, my December favourites, there is quite a range, from shoes to websites to tea toxs.

First off fashion, there are some items which on first glance I wouldn't normally choose to wear.

For example dungarees (overalls) are an item of clothing I never thought I would suit. But for work I'm not allowed to wear anything to short or exposing so I've found that overalls paired with a bright t-shirt underneath have been working well for me when working at the sweet shop. Paired with my converse and light make up I've a new found confidence in wearing them.

I've also found I can wear them easily down to the beach with just a bikini underneath or if I'm going out with a crop top or bandeau. The dungarees I have been wearing are from cotton on and cost about $40.

Next I've been obsessed with lorna janes sports bras and crops.

The dark blue one I've found is more comfortable for working out and offers better support while running cause your boobs don't bounce up and down like they are doing a work out of their own. Whereas I find the stripy one more comfortable to wear through the day when I'm at work or just lounging around the house. I've recently been wearing them absolutely everywhere and love them so so much! However lorna jane is quite pricy but the quality of the clothing compensates for the price. The two crops picture above cost about $60 each but are honestly worth every cent. Check out their website and blog:

But if you are looking for something cheaper I'd recommend Forever21 as their active wear is great quality a whole lot cheaper.

Now some shoes I have been loving, first off my low cut converse. They are not the traditional low cuts, but are just as comfortable and cute.

I bought these nearly over a year ago but never really wore them. I rediscovered them in my wardrobe when I was packing for leavers and have been wearing them ever since because they look cute with just about any outfit. I got them in a shop called hype in the Murray street mall in the perth city centre, they cost about $80 but their cost has been lived up to by the amount of wear they get.

Next is these shoes, I'm not sure what they are called, but they are knock offs of the original windsor smith ones from rubi shoes.

They cost me $40 and I love them. I found they pair up best with playsuits, overalls and brightly patterned shorts. I personally think they are great for parties and for casual occasions. However the original version, Windsor smith, are expensive so I recommend getting  a cheaper version for example the rubi shoe type as they are about $80 cheaper and it will not be as much as a loss when this style of shoe eventually goes out of style.

The next two things I've been loving are flower crowns and wired bun wraps. Flower crowns I've talked about before I just love how simple and cute they look, and they aren't expensive at all.

The next is wired bun wraps. It's literally a piece of wire with a cute bit of patterned material around which is moulded around a bun to give it a cute, girly look, like the one picture below.

This cost me about $5 in Gloss Cosmetics and I wear it all the time. Especially to work because I think it suits the style of clothing I wear there, my overalls and cute t-shirts.

I go on about this stuff all the time but honestly it is amazing, the Nivea visage daily essential tinted moisturising day cream.

It has all the same qualities of a moisturiser but lasts longer, is better for your skin and is a lot cheaper. I find that it's not too oily and doesn't require an awful lot of setting powder to keep it in place. It has great coverage and gives quite a natural sunkissed look. I've been using the same 50mL tube since the winter, like if that doesn't say long lasting and only requires a little for great coverage I don't know what else does.

Next is my sportsgirl liquid pen eyeliner. This cost me about $8 in sportsgirl and is great.

You can do really thick liner or you can do really thin it pretty much covers every persons preference. It's very long lasting and doesn't smudge very easily. However it isn't water proof so it will ru if it does get wet. But if you're looking for a cheap good quality eye liner I would definitely suggest this one.

Keeping in the sportsgirl theme, their lipsticks, just ugh! They are long lasting, great quality and only cost $10! They have heaps and heaps of bright colours perfect for summer but the one I've been loving is this peachy colour called spring fling.

It's quite cute and simple and suits a lot of different outfits and you can basically match it to any colour because its that natural. I'm not normally a fan of this sort of colour and choose to stick to classic pinks but this is like the cutest colour that's not pink that I've tried.

As many people know or don't know. I am absolutely obsessed with the products from Lush. My favourite product recently has been the "my boy lollipop" sugar lip scrub which is bubblegum flavoured.

It tastes really really good like I can't explain I love it so much. And the texture after you've used it makes your lips feel so soft and smooth. Although its like $11 which is a little expensive but so worth it! And it's great for Christmas presents and stocking fillers!

So I love lip balms and lip glosses and lipsticks and all that sorta stuff. So while I was on leavers (post exam tradition for Australian school graduates) my lips became very dry and chapped, from the sun and kissing lots of boys which led me into buying a lip balm while I was away. I ended up buying the alba passion fruit nectar lip balm which is totally made of organic products. So 1. its really cheap 2. it tastes amazing and 3. it lasts forever and 4. its so moisturising, after about 2 days of using it i found my lips were back to normal. So if your lips dry out easy like mine in very hot or cold temperatures drop what you are doing and go buy this.

Ok so the picture below isnt actually mine, so credit to the owner of the photo. But I've been loving this style of nail art. Its a simple colour with one finger nail covered in a glittery polish. I've been wearing this a lot. Especially in red with a silver glittered nail because it looks really cute and festive. I think its quite girly, which ties in very well with my style because I'm known for my cutesy, flirty, quite girly choice of clothing.

This one is a bit different, but I've been loving YourTea's tiny tea. Its a type of tea tox that doesnt use any sort of laxative which other types of tea have been known to use. The taste can be quite different at first but I enjoy drinking it. It doesn't make you lose weight. Only you can do that. But it helps with the process of cleansing. It helps to reduce the bloating or bloated feeling that you can get after eating. I found that I wasn't feeling as sluggish or bloated after I started drinking it. My skin cleared up quite a lot. So within about a week I was feeling full of energy I didn't feel as bloated. I'm going to try the "her tea" next as it is not actually a tea tox and is more suited to everyday use at your own dispense. The costs range between $35-$55.  Here is the link to their website:

Since school stopped I've had more time on my hands to actually pick up a book to read that I enjoy and not one of those god awful books that english teachers practically shove down your throat. So I've been reading Billy and Me by Giovanna Fletcher who is an author, actress, singer and blogger married to Tom Fletcher of McFly. This book is based around the story of Sophie who falls into a relationship with world famous actor Billy Buskin, and follows their story of the highs and lows of their relationship. The inner english student will come out in me now as I believe based on the stories in the media that you may have heard about Giovanna and Tom, and storyline of the novel that the book is almost a reflection of their relationship in the celebrity world while trying to maintain what is considered a "normal" life. But seriously the book is the sweetest thing ever! I absolutely fell in love! I laughed, cried, cringed, seriously worth the read, took me about a day to read from cover to cover and start it all over again.

Now to an unusual favourite. The website "Essena", is owned and run by a 17 year old girl on the Sunshine Coast of Australia. She is absolutely incredibly inspiring and beautiful. She has done so well for herself in the last year empowering girls to love their bodies and treat them with respect, to see further into them. She posts about food, working out, fashion, make up you name it she probably has done a post of youtube video or something along the lines about it. Honestly worth checking out her website, tumblr and youtube. Her way of life has helped me to change mine. I see things in much more of a positive light, I manage to get myself up out of bed early in the morning because I know my body will thank me for it later, and if I'm having an off day then I listen to my body.
